Charleswood Public Library, Manitoba

Introduction

Huntingdon Capital, a leasing management firm in Winnipeg, enlisted Nadi Group to complete a high-level design for the new Charleswood Library. The City of Winnipeg had released a Request for Proposal for a new location and design of the library and Nadi Group worked alongside the leasing agent to find a suitable location that would accommodate the size and program as outlined in the document.

Project Summary

Nadi Group produced a high-level schematic space plan and the exterior renderings and site plan, including key components such as: the addition of a large children’s area that would serve as a gathering space and resource library, multi-purpose rooms, training rooms, and boardrooms. Additionally, we selected materials and finishes for the library, helping support the overall aesthetic and vision of the space. As the client hoped the library would serve a greater role in community engagement, we focused on creating a design that would have barrier-free accessibility and limit the entire program of the library to one level.
