Bridgwater Centre, Manitoba

Introduction

Bridgwater Centre is the focal point for all three Bridgwater communities: Bridgwater Forest, Bridgwater Lakes and Bridgwater Trails in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The client envisioned a commercial hub for shopping, leisure, working and living that would be within walking distance of each community.

Project Summary

Nadi Group researched and developed architectural guidelines based on the request for proposal documents, the client’s vision and the developer’s recommendations. We encouraged active living in the design, providing 80 kilometers of pathways that weave through numerous lakes, parks, playground and a myriad of other green spaces. In the heart of the centre, we incorporated colonial style furnishings and street lighting for stores, businesses and urban living quarters, lining its four-block radius. We included broad sidewalks and plazas and split traffic from Kenaston Boulevard into two one-way streets that circle the centre’s edge -slowing down any vehicular traffic within and ensuring a pedestrian-focused Bridgwater Centre.

Our Role

Nadi Group created a complete marketing package for the client, including a 3D animated walkthrough video for the client that ensured architectural guidelines reflected the vision for the entire neighborhood, i.e. traditional architecture combined with forward-thinking sustainability.
