Surrounded by three beautiful lakes, this property was the site of a sand excavation operation to create a new high-quality neighbourhood in Kimball, MI. The family-owned excavation company enlisted our help to prepare plans and permits to take to the Township and State.
Rezoning is never an easy task and a lot of our work included convincing the township treasurer on why it would be a beneficial development for the township. The township clerk and other members of the board initially opposed the project. In response, we commissioned a financial benefit for the township, which the treasurer approved. As a result, the community was approved and built on our recommendation as a high-quality neighborhood.
We provided rezoning services and Site Planning services to the client. The community has won two national awards from the Manufactured Housing Institute and is a beautiful and affordable place to live. Moreover, the clerk who opposed the community rezoning is now a resident there! Go figure!
