Bhagat Singh Nature Playground, Manitoba

Introduction

Nestled within the expansive 50-acre Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in the Bridgwater Trails neighborhood of Winnipeg lies the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nature Playground. This playground, designed and planned by Nadi Group, finds its home atop a decommissioned landfill. Collaborating closely with engineers and specialists, Nadi Group orchestrated the realization of this monumental park, characterized by winding trails and abundant native grasses. At the park's forefront stands the nature-inspired playground, embodying a seamless fusion of recreational enjoyment and environmental stewardship.

Project Summary

Situated at the foot of a gently sloping hill within Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, the nature-inspired playground offers a dynamic sanctuary for children to immerse themselves in nature's wonders. The playground boasts a diverse array of play structures crafted from sustainable materials, including natural wood and recycled plastics. From climbing frames resembling majestic trees to the surrounding fields teeming with indigenous flora, each element of the playground is thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of wonder and connection with the natural world. 

However, the playground's significance transcends mere recreation—it serves as an interactive educational platform, inviting visitors to deepen their understanding of local ecosystems, environmental conservation, and the value of preserving native landscapes. The playground fosters a sense of environmental stewardship, inspiring future generations to cherish and protect the rich biodiversity of their surroundings.

Our Role

Entrusted with the task of conceptualizing and constructing the nature-inspired playground, our team at Nadi Group embarked on a journey to complement our overarching design vision for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park. Drawing upon our expertise in landscape architecture and playground design, we provided comprehensive landscape architecture services and meticulously managed the playground's construction. This endeavor culminated in the playground's completion in 2019.
