Livingstone College, North Carolina

INTRODUCTION

Livingstone College is a private four-year college located in Salisbury, North Carolina. Harris & Smith retained Nadi Group's services to recreate the landscape for Livingstone College’s existing science center as well as design the landscape for their new science annex: The F. George Shipman Science Center; a ground-breaking development that took ten years to come to fruition.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The client wanted the science annex’s landscape to fit into the established campus. In our design, we incorporated an entry plaza with built-in seating, lighting features that accentuated the new architecture while complementing the traditional infrastructure and small gathering spaces for outdoor leisure. Moreover, we provided interior drawings, stipulating where finishings for the 16,000 square foot science annex (that includes biology and chemistry labs, research spaces and a planetarium) should go.

OUR ROLE

Nadi Group provided landscape and urban design services and assisted Harris + Smith with the interior design for the F. George Shipman Science Center and the existing Duncan Science Building. This project is ongoing.
