Memphis Blues, Tennessee

Introduction

Historic flooding devastated Memphis Mobile City, Tennessee, in 2011. UMH Properties engaged Nadi Group to design an adaptive reuse plan of the site for manufactured home communities.

Project Summary

During the adaptive reuse process, the client acquired additional adjacent land allowing for future expansion of the existing site. Eventually rebranded as the Memphis Blues Village project, we designed attractive landscaped signs and a new logo for this manufactured home community. We also further enhanced the entry image area with the addition of a renovated community center/office and mailbox structure. Finally, to complete the community, our design included a new play structure, recreation area, pedestrian trail and gazebo that overlooks the existing pond.

Our Role

Nadi Group provided a comprehensive community design package that included master planning of the MH sites, and the image/signage and community center. Our role aimed to provide a much-needed source of affordable housing in the area.
